Frequently Asked Question

Where can I find more information or requirements for the BYOD program @ TC?
Last Updated 8 years ago

Templestowe College has a BYOD program to meet dynamic needs of our students. This program builds on the success of our 1-to-1 netbook program that was first introduced in late 2009.

As the acronym suggests, BYOD means that students will be able to bring to school a computing device that is of their own choice and use this in the classroom with access to the common software platform that is already provided on school-owned devices today.

When planning how the BYOD program was going to work, we decided that not all devices in the marketplace would be suitable for use in the classroom. We know that some devices have been designed with a key focus around web-based workloads where as other devices have been designed with the balance between a traditional desktop workload and web-based workload.

With this in mind, some baseline requirements have been created to ensure compatibility with the school network and security policies also with our common software platform.
