Frequently Asked Question
PaperCut is not popping up when I print documents
Last Updated 2 years ago
The PaperCut client is responsible for the accounting of print jobs, requiring you to select an account to print from. It also forwards these print jobs to the printer queue. There is a service in Windows that controls this function, titled pc-client.exe (32 bit).
In the event that the PaperCut window on your computer is not popping up after printing a document, you can either restart your computer to restart the pc-client.exe (32 bit) service, or follow the below steps to restart the process yourself, without the need of restarting your computer.

- Go to the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + AltĀ Delete keys simultaneously.
- Within the Task Manager, please scroll down the Processes list until you find the Pc-client.exe (32 bit) service.
- Click on the service, and then in the bottom right hand corner of the Task Manager, select the End Task button. This will end the PaperCut Process.
- Once the task is ended, go to the Windows Search on the Task Bar, and search for "PaperCut". You will see the program pop up in the list. All you need to do is click on the Program, and it will re-initialize the Pc-client.exe (32 bit) service.
- And that's it. PaperCut should now prompt you to select an account to print from once you print your documents.
